Australia is scheduled to tour Sri Lanka in early 2025 for a two-match Test series and a single One Day International (ODI). The Test series is part of the ICC World Test Championship cycle for 2023–2025. Australia has already qualified for the WTC final 2025, and will be competing against South Africa for the Championship. This tour marks Australia’s return to Sri Lanka following their previous visit in 2022, where the Test series ended in a 1-1 draw. Charith Asalanka will take the reins of captaincy for the Asian side.Steve Smith will lead the team in the absence of regular captain Pat Cummins, who is on paternity leave.
