Champions Trophy 2025 Itinerary Announced
The Itinerary will be started on 16th November from the Pakistani capital, Islamabad. The PCB’s itinerary included northern towns like Murree, Hunza, Skardu, and Muzaffarabad, situated in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, as potential venues. However, the ICC schedule features only Murree along with six other venues across Pakistan.
BCCI Refuses to send Team India to Pakistan
The Indian government and BCCI have collectively announced that they will not be sending their national cricket team to Pakistan to participate in the Champions Trophy 2025. The BCCI demanded from the ICC that a neutral venue like South Africa or UAE be selected for this global tournament. In response, the Pakistan Cricket Board has asked ICC to present written evidence of BCCI’s arguments.
Rohit Sharma will Miss out on the 1st Test against Australia.
The Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma will be staying back to celebrate the birth of his son, who was born on 15th November. The key batsman will miss out on the 1st Test encounter of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth but will join his team for the remainder of 4 matches.
Aaqib Javed Appointed as the Head Coach of Pakistan Team
Former Pakistani bowler, Aaqib Javed is replacing Jason Gillespie as the new white-ball head coach. This news is following Gary Kristen’s retirement. The reason for Gary’s retirement was reported to be increasing tensions between PCB and Kristen regarding the team’s decision.
