South Africa have secured a 2-0 Test series victory over Pakistan. The second Test at Newlands concluded with a 10-wicket win for the hosts, chasing down a modest target of 58 runs. South African opener Ryan Rickelton was instrumental, scoring a remarkable 259 runs in the first innings.

Despite the series loss, Pakistan’s captain Shan Masood highlighted the team’s resilience, particularly their second-innings score of 478 after following on. This series win propelled South Africa to the top of the ICC World Test Championship standings. South Africa will play against Australia in the finals of the World Test Championship.

UK Politics Urge ECB to Boycott Afg In CT 2025

A group of over 160 politicians, including Nigel Farage, Jeremy Corbyn, and Lord Kinnock, has called on the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to boycott next month’s Champions Trophy match against Afghanistan. The England men’s ODI team is scheduled to play Afghanistan in Lahore on 26 February, but pressure is mounting from Westminster for the ECB to forgo the fixture in protest against the Taliban regime’s continued violation of women’s rights.

However, the England Cricket Board is yet to comment on this issue and will most likely continue with their previous plan to play all of the scheduled Champions Trophy games.

The Australian skipper, Pat Cummins has become the first bowler to achieve 200 wickets in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC). He reached this milestone during the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against India. Cummins achieved this feat in 47 matches, maintaining an impressive average of 22.63. He leads the WTC wicket-takers list, surpassing fellow Australian Nathan Lyon (196 wickets) and India’s Ravichandran Ashwin (195 wickets).
