Weekly Roundup: South Africa clinches a victory against West Indies as Bangladesh gears up for the Pakistani challenge

The previous week was quite uneventful for the cricket fans. The only major International bilateral series happening was South Africa vs West Indies test series. Apart from that, Pakistan, Bangladesh, England, and Sri Lanka are busy practicing nets as the four teams will be competing in a test series this upcoming week. South Africa Vs West Indies Test Series

The first test between the two nations ended in a draw and cricket fans were buzzing with excitement to see who would win the next and last encounter. The 2nd match was held from 15-18th August and was a present for cricket enthusiasts. South Africa was only able to score 160 runs in the first innings but they compensated for their poor batting performance by their phenomenal bowling spells. The South African bowling line-up, especially Nadre Burger, had the Caribbean team all-out on just 144 runs.

The second innings was much better for the Proteas as they managed to pile up a total score of 246 runs. Aiden Markram was the leading run scorer with a half-century. However, very poor performance was shown by the South African middle order as they collapsed and failed to contribute anything to the target. The West Indies team fell short of only 24 runs as they were all bowled out at 222. Tempa Bvuma-led South African team won the series by 1-0.

The right-handed top-order batter was in excellent form and one of the most awaited players for this series. However, the youngster suffered from a groin injury and was declared unfit to participate in the upcoming test series.
