The last test in the 3-match test series between Sri Lanka and England was held from 6-9 September, 2024. What was expected to be white whitewash from the English side, turned into a thrilling and interesting match. Sri Lanka won the last test encounter by a whopping 8 wickets.
Lahiru Kumara displayed lethal bowling skills and took 4 wickets in the English second wicket, as the entire team was bowled out at 156 runs, giving Sri Lanka an easy target of219 runs. Sri Lanka’s opener, Pathum Nissanka smashed 127 runs and propelled his team towards victory by forming crucial partnerships. Despite this tremendous effort, Sri Lanka lost the series and England took home the trophy by 2-0.
