Install the Smartcric app on your iPhone or iPad
Apple doesn't let sites offer an install button, but Safari can keep a site on the Home Screen, where it behaves like an app: its own icon, full screen with no address bar, straight to the match list. Nothing is downloaded and there is no App Store visit. Three taps, under a minute.
Smartcric is already on this device. Open it from your Home Screen.
Open smartcric.is in Safari and tap Share
Safari is the browser that matters here. Type smartcric.is into it and open the site.
Tap the Share button, the square with an arrow pointing up. On an iPhone it is in the middle of the bar at the bottom; on an iPad it is at the top, next to the address bar.
Choose Add to Home Screen
The share sheet opens. Scroll down past the row of apps to the list of actions and tap Add to Home Screen. On recent iOS versions it is near the top of that list; on older ones you may need to swipe up a little.
Tap Add
A preview shows the Smartcric icon and name. Leave the name as it is and tap Add in the top-right corner.
Done
The icon is on your Home Screen (the last page, if you have several). Open it from there: the site starts full screen on the match list, and streams play the same way as in Safari.
The icon always opens the current version of the site, so there is never an update to install.
If it doesn't work
Add to Home Screen isn't in the list. You are probably in an app's built-in browser (a link opened from WhatsApp, Instagram or Gmail). Copy the address and open it in Safari itself.
The icon opens Safari with the address bar showing. The site was added as a bookmark rather than an app; remove the icon and repeat the steps, making sure you pick Add to Home Screen rather than Add Bookmark.
You want it gone. Long-press the icon and choose Remove App, then Delete. Nothing else is left behind.
